Lexi's First Solid Food

 "Would you people please get this thing started already!?!"

Lexi has been showing signs that she was ready for solid food (i.e. watching the food from your fork to your mouth with longing eyes) for a while so we decided that Monday night was the night.  Apparently we took too long getting everything settled and she let us know!

 And...success!  She loved it!  Look at that face - pleased as peaches, for sure!

 She loved it so much that she downed the little amount I had started with and was quite perturbed over how long it took me to go make some more.

 She was totally dive-bombing the spoon the whole time!

Yep, looks like we've got ourselves an eater! :)  Let's hope it sticks!

Legoland

Turns out there's more to this world than Disneyland.  So, last Saturday we got to head south to Legoland for the day, courtesy of my sister Amy who had purchased 2-day tickets when she went with her family and we got to come back for the second day for free! Thanks, Amy - we had a blast!

Since Grammy held Lexi while the rest of us went on the ride, we got to do a baby-swap and Libby got a second turn with Grammy - how fun!

Attached to the park they also have this new SeaLife attraction that our tickets got us in to, as well.  It was really cool and had lots of places for you to climb "under the sea" for a different view of the animals.  This was a shark-tunnel, kinda like the one at Sea World.

Libby liked watching the stingrays swim by in this tank.  The rest of us felt very nostalgic thinking back on our trip to Stingray City and the Cayman Islands - oh, what I wouldn't give to go back!

After our Sea Life hiatus, it was back to Legoland for more fun and rides.  We thought Uncle Mark would be pleased to see Libby taking after him.  She was a great little pilot!

Libby was just barely tall enough for this ride but we're glad she made it.

Uh-oh!  First planes, now boats - we're in trouble!  Especially since we did at least 2 full 360s during the short little course and we seemed to take twice as long to get through it as everyone else.  Hmmm...I wonder why!

One of the best things about Legoland is that while the parents wait in line for the rides, the kids get to play with Legos.  Building towers and racing cars down ramps is serious business - check out that concentration face!

And here we are closing down the place on our last ride of the night.  Thanks, Openshaws for a wonderful day at "the other park"!  We loved it!

Beanies!

 Well, we finally hit a bit of beanie weather (albeit not much, it only lasted a day or two!), so we got to break out the girls' cute beanies my friend Cindy made for them. 

 Are they cute, or what?!?

Just out for a quick walk to the park where we're always sure to receive plenty of these fantastic smiles!

Disneyland with Grammy & Pops

 Libby has decided she loves the teacups so we have to make sure to hit them up before Daddy joins us after work - he's NOT a fan!

 Lexi remains undecided on the issue.  We'll see who she sides with later on in life! ;)

 Currently the carousel seems to be more Lexi's style.

 Eagerly awaiting the parade to begin - we can't wait!

 What a great way to spend a Friday night with Grammy and Pops!

 And...the greatest discovery of this trip to Disneyland - the roller-coaster in Toontown!  Who knew?!  Yep, there is a roller-coaster that even Libby can ride.  You have to be 35 inches tall and she just sneaks by, but boy were we glad she did - she LOVED it!  So much so that we went on it twice in a row!  Move over Small World, roller-coasters are taking over!

"Super Saturday" Fun

Since Libby and Lexi get to go to Grammy's house on Fridays, we've started calling Fridays "Friday Fun Day."  And, since our whole family gets to be together on Saturday, we've termed it "Super Saturday" and boy do we mean it!  I LOVE my Saturdays!  Getting to hang out with these cuties all day is the BEST!

 Libby found these glasses and loves to sport them around the house.  They usually look pretty ridiculous, but I have to say they look pretty cute when paired with her little jean jacket get-up!

 Lexi the stander!  (And, yes, as you can tell from the no sheets and laundry on the bed, Saturday is also chore day - that's the only bad part.)

 We went to this great park overlooking the ocean last Saturday and Libby loved this walk-on tree.

 Here she is laughing it up at her daddy's whistling.  She's recently discovered that it's the greatest thing EVER!

Halloween

 We had a few friends over for dinner before we all hit the streets for some wild and crazy toddler trick-or-treating.

 Our neighborhood will never be the same after being hit by this frightful group!  Yeah, we're pretty sure we had the cutest group of trick-or-treaters ever!  Davy Crockett and his raccoon sister, a pirate and his giraffe brother, a lion, and our girls.

 Just a few houses in and this was Lexi - the dead weight caterpillar that slept through the whole event!

And the little siblings, too.  Too bad our little lion had to leave early and missed out on pictures!  What a fun night it was - Libby keeps asking when it's going to be Halloween again - she LOVED it!

Trunk or Treat

 Our ward put on our annual Halloween carnival and Trunk or Treat the Saturday before Halloween and we had a great time.  Here is Lexi all costumed up for the big event!

 Brad and Lexi manned the "trunk" while Libby and I were out collecting the grub.  What a cute little caterpillar!

 And the cutest little Minnie Mouse you've ever seen!  Libby loved the whole concept of Trunk or Treat and was so thrilled that we were going to get to do it all over again on Wednesday! 

We were one of only a few families in which all members dressed up for the party, but we were glad we did.  It was super fun and Libby was very excited about the whole costume thing - Mommy and Daddy included.

A witch, a snowboarder, Minnie Mouse, and a caterpillar - definitely no central theme, but still fun!

Disneyland: Halloween-Style

We had to sneak in another Disneyland trip before all the cute Halloween decorations were gone!  So, last Thursday after work we headed down there for a few hours.  As always, it was totally worth it (even if the traffic meant we only got 2 hours in the park before it closed)!

The girls and I carpooled there with my friend, Laura and her little boy, Zeke and Brad met up with us after work.  She was a trooper and even hung out with us as we looked for the finishing touches for Libby's Minnie Mouse costume.  ;)
