More Powell Fun

Just a few more of the great moments...
Enjoying one of our many AMAZING meals aboard Turquoise Bay and Luna Vista.
Some post-meal relaxing was always a necessity after how full we got!
Lexi and I enjoying fireworks night.  Giant sparklers and a GREAT show put on by Greg and Wendy (with some pyro help from kid-in-a-candy-shop Brad).
Too bad pictures never do it justice!
Not one, but TWO remotes!  Nice find, Lexi!
Brad went on a hike by himself and took this cool picture of our houseboat from up above the slot canyon. (This was the last day when the other houseboat had already left.)

Tubing and Water Skiing

I guess wake boarding isn't EVERYthing...so we did some tubing and even water skiing, too.
I got to take each of the girls for their first tubing experience.  They may not have been rejoicing in the moment, but it was still fun and hopefully they'll grow into it.
Lexi and I enjoying a nice, easy tubing experience.
It took some convincing, but Libby enjoyed our ride, too!
Ellie and Reagan showing off - at "Reagan speed".
Ty and Syd...before Brad decided to let 'em have it!
Somehow, when Reagan's in charge, Brad obeys and we got to enjoy a nice, easy ride, too.
Hey, look at me water skiing!  Crazy!  Yep, I hadn't slalomed since 5th grade, but I got up first try and had a great time - it was awesome!
And this is why we love Powell!!!!
Brad decided to give it a go, too.  Of course, he got up first time...shocking!
Turns out we love ALL things behind a boat! :)

Dangling Rope & the Swimming Hole

Two of our whole-group outings at the lake:  the old favorite - Dangling Rope Marina, and a new hidden jem - Lake Powell's natural swimming pool.
 Ice cream at the marina!
(Notice my new floppy hat is doing more flopping than is necessary!)
Feeding the carp is always a favorite activity.
 The Macbeths
Lexi helped Daddy drive us back to the swimming hole for a much needed pit stop.
Libby enjoying time with her new friend, Fancy Nancy!
This pool is above where the water level is this year, so you could cruise right passed it and never even know it was there.  What a great find!
 Our family at the pool.
The other families got pictures of their whole family jumping in together.  Well, we didn't figure our girls would go for that, so we did it just the two of us.  Leave it to Brad to do something totally crazy - gotta love him!

Lake Powell Fun

Just another day in paradise!  Enjoying all the fun Powell has to offer.
Another day, another mud hole.  Life is gooooood!
I love this little mud rat!
Me trying out wake-surfing behind the Barbers boat with a gigantic wake.  Definitely couldn't do this behind our boat!
Brad and Tanner playing with remote control boats.
Lexi promptly followed up her first ever ponytail with her first ever set of 2 ponytails.  We love our little devil-baby!
Those white-blonde devil horns are just too cute!
Libby and Daddy got to go on a fun seadoo ride.
Brad and the kids...just being kids!
Another paddle among the amazing scenery.  Ahhhh, life really is good!

Our Lake Powell Adventure Begins!

We got to spend a week at Lake Powell this summer - one of my favorite places in the world!  Getting there was a bit of an adventure, but the second you hit the water, it's all worth it!
This was the first of our two blown-out tires on the trailer.  I say blown out, but I think obliterated is a better word for it!  Poor Brad had to do it all - twice! - while my mom and I just tried to keep the kids out of the way.  8 hours later we made it to Vegas, and then it was smooth sailing the rest of the way to Powell.
Our early morning departure on the houseboat.
The women at the helm:  Mom, Libby, Wendy, and Jordan.
Libby had a blast playing on the blow-up toys while we cruised to our spot.
We arrived and met up with the other houseboat - the Barbers and Openshaws.
Lexi showing off her first-ever ponytail!  Not much, but it's definitely there.
The foot washing bucket - always a favorite of the little ones!
Mark and Amy on the paddleboards on their way back to our very own slot canyon.  Isn't Powell amazing?!
Three kids playing in the mud - what could be better?
Brad and I with Libby and Max on our own paddle through the canyon.
Grammy and Lexi enjoying the scenery (and the mud!).
More to come of our GREAT Powell trip!

Sea World

For part of my aunt Tammy's 50th birthday celebration, we all spent a Saturday at Sea World.  We were quite the gang with the Mitchells, Fosters, Stewarts, Coopers, and us!
Libby loved getting to show Daddy around.  This was at the Beluga whales - some of my favorites!
Enjoying the ice-wall - a welcomed reprieve from a very hot day!
Reagan and Libby with their daddies in the polar bear caves.
The Beluga whales from the water perspective.
Lexi was thinking she was pretty hot-to-trot in her new get-up!  (And, who are we kidding, we thought she was pretty hot-to-trot too!)
Most of the gang at the Pets Rule show.
While everyone else did some rides, we took the girls to the Shamu show and dared the splash zone.  We were four rows from the top and thought we'd be fine.  Yeah, that's what they all say, huh?!  I got it the worst, and fortunately it was only half of me, but I was pretty soaked!  The girls were NOT convinced that the soak zone was a good call by their parents.  Oops!
Syd and Lexi enjoying the fish and turtles.
We took the SkyRail at night and it was awesome!
A little chilly by that point, but we all loved it.
We finished off the night at the Shamu Rocks night show - and, no, we didn't sit in the soak zone this time! ;)
And that's a wrap, folks!
