We've been talking about doing a camping trip for awhile and finally made it happen. We went locally at a campsite up Ortega Highway on the way to Elsinore and had a great time.
We arrived kinda late and got to set up our tent in the dark (always fun!), but here's Lexi first thing in the morning - so excited to be camping!
Posing in the PJs
I love that our sand toys for the beach double as lake mud-toys, as well as camping dirt-toys now, too!
Brad was our breakfast chef for the day.
Libby and her friend Owen just relaxing by the fire.
We spent Saturday at the lake and had a great time, as always. Love this girl!
Libby and Owen had fun chasing Mark around in the water.
Our sexy little one-shoulder water girl.
And, there was lots of jumping off the back of the boat for everyone.
Lexi's turn!
A little trail we walked right near our campsite.
And look what else we found right outside our campground...YIKES! Brad was far braver than I was on this one. I stood a safe distance and took the picture. That's one BIG tarantula!
Camping corndogs. Dirty and loving it!
Libby inspired Brad's new idea for a makeshift lantern. Flashlight on top of a bottle of water. It worked GREAT - what a discovery!
Hot cocoa for the campers
The girls absolutely loved sleeping in a tent (and, of course, the jumping from bed to bed that led up to it!).
The girls were entertained by their new "fishing poles" while Brad and I packed up camp.
We finished off the trip with a nature hike in Casper's park.
The highlight of the hike were the 4 deer that came bounding by us right near this spot. It was awesome!
The girls loved climbing trees with Brad.
and, of course, resting in the shade.
More fun things to climb
Ahhh, how sweet!
It was a wonderful trip and something we definitely need to do more often!
What a fun trip!!! Except for that gigantic spider!
