Ode to a Wardrode - Picture Style

If pictures were poetry, this collection would certainly be an "Ode to a Wardrobe" for sure! This is just a sampling of some of Libby's darling outfits. Look for a Pajama Parade Post to follow! ;)

Libby's First Pumpkin Patch

Last week we were lucky enough to have my whole family visit (minus the dads), so Libby got to experience her first Pumpkin Patch with her cousins! The Stewarts were in town first and Libby got to go with them, then the Openshaws came a few days later and my parents took them back for more. Libby loved the experience and we sure had fun taking pictures of her! ;)
The pumpkin princess!
Yeah, I'd say she nailed the expression on this one: truly terrifying!
The pumpkin surprise - complete with a set of really large hands for the size of her body!
Family fun!
It's great to be three-strong now - we sure love our new addition!
I love that serious face - she means business!
Pops Pig posing with some of his grandkids - the second wave got a picture on the next trip.
The first onslaught of our family to crash the Laguna Hills Mall Pumpkin Patch - Britt, Tammy, Jen, Ty, Summer, Becky, Libby, Brad, Sydney, Grammy, and Pops.
Libby's first attempt at driving. She wasn't too good at keeping her eyes on the road, though.
Brad was the hit attraction, as always. He loaded the kids up in a wheelbarrel and carted them around the place. Syd's face says it all - they loved it!

Road Trip Rewind

Better late than never, right?! Over Conference Weekend we took Libby on her first road trip. She was... you guessed it...an absolute angel! She slept the whole way there (for all 7 hours) and most of the way back - what a champ! We had a great time visiting the Stewarts in their new home in Clarkdale, AZ (about 45 minutes from their old house in Sedona).
Ty was excited to meet and hold Libby for the first time. Notice his red eyes - that boy is a fish! He is loving the fact that their new house has a pool - he gets to swim everyday.
We got to go to soccer games for all three of the kids and Libby was a great fan. After the games, she became the entertainment for the rest of us.
A bath in the sink was a fun first, too!
Another whole-family event! She really is quite fun to watch.
Ahhhh, how cute!
We were a few days late for Jen's birthday, but the Stewarts were nice enough to hold off on the ice cream cake till we got there. Happy birthday, Jen! And thanks for the cake!
Libby's version of watching Conference - and the rest of us had our eyes on her most of the time!
Between sessions we walked down to the old pioneer cemetery right down the street from their house. It was pretty cool.
The trip ended with a bang! We got to see the storm of a lifetime. There was rain, hail, wind, and lots of thunder and lightning. It was really fun!

Macbeth Family Visitors - Yay!

We finally got some of the Macbeth side of the family to come meet Libby and enjoy our sunny So Cal weather. The Peltons came to visit for one evening and then Michelle and Taylor came to stay for a long weekend - it was GREAT!
Michelle and Taylor fell in love with the Montage - it was the perfect day and they had a blast playing around in the rocks and tidepools.
Libby getting some of her first sun-bathing in - her mother's daughter for sure!
After the Montage we went to lunch at the harbor and then hit up the tide pools in Dana Point. Taylor loved all of the climbing and exploring the wildlife - we even saw a seal perched on the next rock over to the left.
Aunt Michelle with Libby
On Saturday we took them to the Riviera beach and had a great day there, too. It was a bit chillier, but the water felt great once you were in. Michelle and I had fun burying Taylor and making him into a mermaid. He buried her later, too.
Andrew (AKA the baby whisperer) was a good sport hanging out with us on his vacation! He's awaiting his mission call and we can't wait to hear what people of the world will be lucky enough to have him headed their way!
Libby loved her Aunt Karen - who wouldn't??!!
Since they were just here for one evening (between stops in LA and SD), we only got to show them the beach right before sunset and then went out to dinner. Too bad the server who took this picture did a terrible job! But it was sure fun and we were glad we made it on their agenda for their quick trip!

San Diego Zoo

On Tuesday, while the Stewarts were in town, we all headed to one of our favorite places: the San Diego Zoo. It was Libby's first trip there, but certainly won't be her last - we love it!
At the entrance - good thing that girl loves her stroller because she sure is in it a lot! :)
Checking out the camels with her cousins Ty and Sydney. (The camels are there, I swear!)

The gang waiting for our bus tour to start.
This is what Libby looked like for most of the bus tour - she's soooo cute!
Checking out the elephants.
I had to wake her up for this picture - and her eyes are still closed!!! It was a great day at the zoo.

Birthday Party & Babysitter

Last Saturday, my friend Annie threw a huge party for her boyfriend, Eric. He turned 40 and is officially over-the-hill! And, fittingly enough, the party was held at a clubhouse in Leisure World, the local retirement community - I thought that was hilarious! :) Libby gave the birthday boy a run for his money on stealing the spotlight for the night, but when he dropped down on one knee and proposed to Annie, he sealed his spot as the man of the night! What a great night!
It was a 70s theme (or in my case, go 60s and claim it as "early 70s" attire), which was really fun.
The retro Macbeths - even Libby was sporting her most retro blanket - a Strawberry Shortcake one that her Grandma made her.

Us with the birthday boy turned fiance - talk about a big night!
Libby showing off her flowers from Uncle Randy and Aunt Cheryl, and her cute dress from Aunt Jen.
Libby's swing - a family favorite! ;)
On Monday night, Brittani was Libby's official first babysitter (since Grammy doesn't really count). Brad and I decided to celebrate our anniversary that night since the Angel game on our real anniversary probably didn't quite count!
After 5 years of marriage, I'm more in love with Brad than ever! We had a wonderful, fancy dinner at Cedar Creek Inn and enjoyed a great date together. I'm so glad that I married my best friend and got the greatest husband and father EVER in return!

Libby's First Angel Game

Last Friday was our 5 year anniversary and we were originally planning on going out to a nice dinner. But then our friend Scott called and had a pair of free tickets to the Angel game, so we decided we couldn't pass up the opportunity and we took Libby to her first Angel game. She was great and even put up with her mommy's loud cheering in her ear the whole time!
The Angels ended up losing the game, so this is Libby showing what she thinks of the White Sox - BOOOOO!
Since Brad is the ultimate baseball fan, he was in heaven showing his little girl the ropes. She loves her Daddy!
I think I must have been cheering like crazy next to her for this picture because it's almost like you can read her mind..."Who is this crazy Mom of mine???"
Gotta love Angel stadium!
It was the last "Big Bang Friday" of the season, so Libby got to enjoy her first out-of-the-womb fireworks show, too. She went crazy for the fireworks on the Fourth of July but this time Brad was a good dad and plugged her ears while she slept through most of it.
Here's how she finished out the evening. There's nothing cuter than a sleeping baby!
