Sea World - Take One

One of the first activities for Grammy Camp this year was a trip to Sea World.  All the moms and kids (plus two fun guests, Lena and Hailey) spent the day enjoying the park. It was yet another all-day adventure for a very new baby girl!  Lexi sure is getting to experience a lot!
 What a group!
 First stop:  the Shamu Show.
Libby was in heaven!  She kept shouting, "It's a big one!" and absolutely loved watching Shamu splash everyone, including all her cousins and aunts (we steered clear of the Soak Zone ourselves!).  She loved it so much we had to go back for a second time later that day!
Shamu is even cool when he's not performing!
Max and Libby became best buddies on the trip and Syd was GREAT with them, as always!
Me and my girls at the Shark Encounter (though you can't tell by the picture).
Aunt Amy took Libby and Max on the spinning starfish.  She was a little nervous by their faces at first, but they both ended up loving it.
Then it was Elmo's Flying Fish ride which, according to Libby, is just "like Dumbo!" at Disneyland.  She was sold immediately!
And we closed out the park at the starfish pool.  Holding starfish and a seaslug were pretty big highlights for the little ones, too.  The adults and bigger cousins all loved the new rollercoaster, Manta and each went on it several times.  Everyone had a blast and some of us (the Stewarts and Macbeths) loved it so much, we ended up going back for a second visit a week later.  So, I now have a pass till the end of the year and can't wait for more visits!

Three Great Shots

My sister, Jen brought her nice camera when they came down from Montana and she took some great pictures of Lexi.  Again, Lexi wasn't the most cooperative model, but Jen worked wonders and got these three great ones!
 What a precious little angel!
Oh, life is so exhausting when you're a baby!
We love you, Lexi!

Just Because

More pictures of our cute girls!
 SISTERS!
 What a cute little sister!
Big Sister Libby is all about feeding herself lately.  It makes for a very messy experience, but she sure loves it!
Lexi loved her Grandma-time.  Don't they look so cute in their matching blues?!
 Ahhhhh....
Nothing like a mirror to entertain a baby!
Lexi brought Libby a new toy when she came home for the first time - her very own bike!
(Notice the slave-labor in the background.  My parents came over and did some major yard work for us.  Thanks, Mom and Dad!  Sorry it was more than you signed up for!)
 Thanks, Lexi!
And Grammy and Pops got Libby a new toy, too.  Her water toy is a new favorite.  Thanks, Grammy and Pops!

Disneyland

Since our passes were about to be blacked out for the summer, we figured we'd better go one more time, 8-day old baby and all!
And this time Libby and Lexi were lucky enough to have their Grandma join them!  (And Grammy, too!)
Lexi got her "First Visit" pin from City Hall and my guess is she might possibly be one of the youngest guests ever!
Looks like Lexi is a fan of Small World, just like her big sister!
The grandmas and their adorable granddaughters!
I was so glad to have all the extra hands to help!  Disneyland all day with 2 - what a trip! ;)
Libby loved the Aladdin show at California Adventure.  Though if you ask her, the whole show was about a big elephant - she knows what she likes, that's for sure!
Lexi and I on Dumbo.
And, of course, we had to hit up the carousel.  Notice the girls' matching outfits - the first of many, I'm sure!
Brad ended up joining up with us later that night and then he and Diann stayed to go on "real" rides when the girls and I were all tuckered out.  Yep, we all LOVE Disneyland!

Some of Lexi's Firsts

These are a few of Lexi's documented "first" moments.
Her first time sleeping in the cradle that Pops made for all of his grandkids. She is the tenth one to sleep in it and she seems to love it just as much as her nine predecessors. ;)
Her first time having a bottle.  Another Daddy's Girl in the making!
 Her first bath.
One of the only shots of her umbilical cord before it fell off.  They say it's supposed to fall off in 10-14 days, but her was gone by day 5!
Her first holiday outfit - red, white and blue for Memorial Day.  Thanks, Grandma, for making her so festive and cute!
Her first tummy-time.  Not a raving success!

Home from the Hospital

Lexi got to come home from the hospital on Saturday, May 26th when she was 2 days old.
She's all dolled-up for the occasion!
A very stir-crazy mommy was happy to be leaving with my new little bundle of joy!
An equally restless daddy was more than ready to sleep in his own bed again!
While we were checking out, Grammy, Pops, Grandma, and Libby were decorating the house for Lexi's big arrival.  It looked soooo adorable!  Signs, lanterns, balloons - the works!
Our happy little family of four.
Lexi's first time through the gate - welcome home, baby girl!
 The Macbeth girls
As tradition has been set, it was a no-brainer that we had to hit the beach the day we took Lexi home from the hospital, too.  So, here we are at Montage later that afternoon (after having gone out to lunch, too!).
What a gorgeous afternoon it was!
The whole gang - Libby, Grammy, Grandma, Pops, me, Lexi, and Brad.
Brad and Libby enjoyed playing together in the sand and water, which they claim felt really nice.  I wouldn't know, I didn't touch it.
And Lexi and I just enjoyed the scenery.  Well, she slept through it, but in baby-world, sleeping is enjoying, right?!?  Don't worry, plenty more beach time coming soon, kiddo! ;)

Hospital Newborn Pictures

We had the hospital photographers come around twice to try to get some good ones of Lexi, but that little stinker would have nothing to do with it either time!  She must be related to Libby - so cute, until you get a camera on her and then she refuses to cooperate!
 Gotta love the one-eye look!
That mouth never seemed to close!  But Brad sure is cute!
The look of consternation on her face was a permanent feature.
We thought a wardrobe change might help...not so much.
The closest to sleeping we got.  Oh well, you can't win them all!  She's still cute, even if she is a little stinker.
