Kanarraville Hike

One morning we gathered up the troops and drove down to Kanarraville (near Zion National Park) to go on a hike through some slot canyons and waterfalls.  It turned out to be amazing and did not disappoint!  My girls made it the whole way - woo hoo!
All the hikers ready to go!
At our first sight of water, the girls were both ecstatic!  Little did they know all the water that was coming...
 Libby the poser
Feet hit the water and never looked back!  Rock throwing occurred all along the way, of course.
I got to carry Lexi 90% of the way, but it was incredible and I wouldn't have wanted her to miss it.  This is just one of the many amazing views of the slot canyons - pictures don't do it justice!
Libby hiked the entire 3.5 miles all by herself - what a trooper!
Libby heading up the first ladder.
It was a bit more precarious with Lexi, but our three-man handoff worked great!
Only a few of us went on to the last "ladder".  I left the girls behind on that one.  Here is Summer on the ladder part, then it's a log just leaning up against the waterfall.  It looked scary, but it really wasn't bad at all - just not something I'd take the girls up if I didn't have to.
We made it!  Summer and me at the farthest point we went to.  (Apparently it goes on like that for awhile, but we were satisfied and needed to get back to the ones we left behind.
By the time we got back to the cars, we were all pretty exhausted.  Good thing the Stewarts' friends had lemonade and homemade salsa awaiting us!
I was so proud of Libby doing it all by herself and so glad my girls are troopers so I don't have to miss out on all the fun, either.  I sure do love them!!!

  1. Loved that hike and love that one picture of Lexi by herself! Those girls are troopers. Wish Brad could have been there.
