Presidents' Weekend

This Presidents' Weekend was Tanner and Sydney's 12 year old trip. It was a special treat this time since their moms got to tag along for the fun. We had a VERY busy, but VERY amazing weekend.

The reason for the trip - baptisms for the dead at the LA temple. They each got to be baptized for their ancestors. What a neat experience!
We adults all got to go to my cousin Justin's wedding while the kids watched Libby. Then, while they did baptisms, Libby and I got to go to the Visitors' Center and hang out on the temple grounds. It was such a nostalgic feeling for me to be in a Visitors' Center listening to the Christus recording. Ah, the memories! :) Libby enjoyed it and even recognized and said "Jesus" when she saw him! It was so special!

The whole gang at the temple. Not a bad place to spend a beautiful Saturday.

That night was bowling and Yogurtland. We had a great time and were so glad that Britt and Mike got to join us, too!

Libby loved dancing to all the music and watching the flashing lights. We let her try her hand at bowling for the last go of the night. Apparently she gets her bowling skills from her mother - pretty sure it was a gutterball!

After church on Sunday we went for a walk on the San Clemente beach trail and pier. It was a beautiful day and a very nice walk.

The end of the pier was pretty chilly, so Libby got to bundle up with her daddy!

Always fun when Daddy's around! Especially when he's the one driving the stroller - you should have seen the wild ride she got on the way back. It's amazing the child isn't suffering from a severe case of whiplash!

She sure loves her aunts and cousins!

On Monday we had to drop Jen and Syd off at LAX, so the rest of us decided to spend the day in Santa Monica. We had fun on the pier and the gymnastic equipment they have on the beach.

We even got to hold some cute little bunnies while we were there.
Libby wasn't so sure about it when I was holding them, but as soon as they were in Grammy's hands, she was all about it. Go figure!

We finished up the afternoon on the Third Street Promenade and had a great time watching the street performers. The one-man-band was a favorite of all of ours, but Libby was pretty hesitant to let go of our dollar bill! Stingy little bugger!

What a GREAT weekend! Thanks to my parents for all the fun ideas and planning! We loved spending time with family and can't wait for the next batch of visitors!

More Disneyland Fun

Well, there's one thing for sure - we are certainly getting our money's worth out of our annual passes! We've been 6 times in less than 2 months and we can't wait to go back for more! The carousel is one of Libby's favorites! Whether it's the traditional horses at Disneyland, or the under-the-sea version at California Adventure, she's all for it!
"Look, Mom! No hands!" (ok, one hand, but close enough!)

Dumbo is another one of her favorites! Anything with elephants and she's in!

Daddy usually joins us a little too late for the parade, but he got to watch it with her for the first time last trip. He, who usually HATES parades, has somehow changed his tune and was almost as excited as Libby was. Watching his little girl take it all in was heaven for him. It's amazing what an effect such a little girl can have on her dad - scary, really! :) But, oh, so good!

Twins!

Last week my friend Moonsung and I met up at the park after work and lo and behold, we had twins and we didn't even know it!

Libby and Campbell are only a week or so apart and looked so cute in their totally unplanned matching outfits!
The funniest thing is that neither Moonsung or I were the ones to purchase their matching outfits - both of their dads picked them out! Looks like great dads think alike!

Valentine's Day

Libby had a great 3 days of Valentine's day this year.

On Sunday, she got to wear her new Valentine's dress from Grandma and Grandpa and she looked soooo cute! She got lots of compliments and even learned the word "princess" for the first time, thanks to the darling wardrobe!
That night she had her friend Ty over for dinner (and his family, too), and the two of them enjoyed lounging together watching her cat movie - Milo and Otis - in very short stints. Notice the amazing post-ponytail hair - AWESOME!!!

On Monday, she got to go to her friend Ben's pre-school and participate in "Love Day" which she absolutely loved. Then, on the real Valentine's she got spoiled by her daddy. Of course!

Lots of fun playtime!

The self-taken family photo - always fun!

Daddy got her a monkey balloon that she had tied to her car and got to cruise around the house with. She also got a dozen roses, but I forgot to get pictures of them! Ooops.

She finished off the night helping Daddy unwrap the present she got for him. He is, after all, the man of her heart! She picked out the "blue" ones all on her own.

It was a nice, low-key Valentine's for us and I am so grateful to have so much love in my life.

Saturday in San Diego

Last Saturday was yet another 80 degree day in So Cal, so we headed to San Diego to take my parents up on their offer to hang out with them at their timeshare. They spent the whole weekend, but we just joined for most of the day on Saturday.

The boys got to golf (for free - yippee!), and we girls had lots of fun enjoying the sun! Libby loved being right next to the golf course and even got to cheer for Daddy and Pops on the first and last holes of the course.
Pops found her some golf balls to play with and she loved them!

What a cutie! You'd think it was the middle of summer with how she's dressed, huh?!

She really liked to watch all the ducks on the lake and climb on the fence, too.

While the boys played, we swam. It had been awhile since Libby was in a pool, but she seemed to enjoy it just as much as ever.

If only it was a little warmer! Despite being heated, it wasn't quite as warm as we would have liked, so heads stayed out of the water the whole time. Bummer - dunking is the best part!!!

One happy little swimmer!

She did a great job kicking (though ususally froggy-style with both legs at the same time), and would occasionally get the arms going, too.

Thanks, Grammy, for letting us crash your party! After swimming and golfing, we had a nice dinner and then played in the Rec Room area - foosball, air-hockey, Libby-sized play area, and a fun park with some fast slides! We hope we get invited back sometime - it was GREAT!

Beach Day

It was another gorgeous So Cal day last Saturday, so we decided to make the most of it and head to the beach with some friends. Libby was all suited up and ready to go! Just waiting for Daddy to get home from work!
We went to the Montage and it was amazing! The water was freezing, but sooooo beautiful!

Libby loved playing in the sand! The water, not so much today - it really was FREEZING!

A family picture was a must, even if I am pregnant and disgusting!

The Crocketts and Vargas got there before us and Owen had fun showing Libby the ropes in the water.

Our friends the Coles were in town visiting from Texas and met up with us there. We were so lucky that we got to see them Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! Dinner on Thurs, Disneyland on Fri, and the beach on Sat - what a trip!

"The Girls" picture - Andrea with Stella, and me with Libby

Our little beach bum!

The boys were busy burying Jameson and Libby refused to be left out of the fun! She nosed her way over there and had a blast throwing sand on the pile! What a helper!

Is she in heaven, or what?!?

The funniest thing was that as we were packing up, the sun was setting and we set out walking up the hill to our cars. I looked ahead and saw a huge group of teenagers all dressed up and it dawned on me that it was our school's Winter Formal that night. So, wouldn't you know it - pregnant and in a bathing suit, I got to see a huge group of my students! AWESOME!

Daddy Moments

The ultimate Daddy's girl wants to do everything with daddy!

She loves her daddy's slippers!

Bath time with Daddy is so much fun! Nice sensoring, Brad! :)
