Augusta, GA

We spent most of the day Tuesday in Augusta, Georgia.  It was raining off and on all day, so we just kinda rolled with the punches throughout the day.  We almost skipped walking along the river walk due to inclement weather, but we're so glad we waited it out - it was beautiful!
Our first stop was a canal tour on one of the old boats they used to ship textiles along the river.
This is one of the mills along the canal that brought lots of people to the area.
I just can't get over how green and beautiful everything is there!
What a cute family! - and great tour-guides, to boot!
The kids each got to try their hand at steering, too!
Even Lexi gave it a whirl.
Like I said, it was hit and miss with the rain all day, so this was a hit.  Good thing they had lots of umbrellas for us!
 Lexi loves her grandparents!
When it was super rainy and we almost decided against the river walk, Brad decided it was time for him to get some "Bojangles" he'd been dying to try.  Turned out it was a good stop because as soon as we finished eating the clouds parted enough for us to have the perfect walk along the river.
We're on the GA side, and that's SC just across the river.
Four very spoiled grandkids with their adoring grandparents.
Just like in Charleston, they had these swings along the river walk for people to just sit and watch the world go by.  So Southern and so cool!
Perfect size for a whole family.
 Or just two lovebirds.
Or a grandpa and his girls.
What a great trip to Augusta - rain and all!
